Pearland, TX, May 19, 2020 — Community Health Network (CHN) is driven by its mission to provide accessible quality healthcare to the communities it serves. During the COVID-19 pandemic, CHN is partnering with key local organizations to establish a foundation for public health and safety.
Community Health Network (CHN) is partnering with the United Way Galveston County Mainland to provide free testing at their office located at 2800 Texas Ave., Texas City, Tx. 77590. The Community Health Network’s United Way Galveston County’s testing hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
CHN has provided COVID-19 prescreening and testing since mid-March when new cases first presented in the region. CHN’s Chief Medical Officer adopted the protocols outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for CHN to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
To access testing, community members will contact our call center for a health screening and telehealth visit to determine if they meet the criteria for COVID-19 testing per CDC guidelines. People that meet the requirements will be issued a patient ID number and be sent to the testing site to have their sample taken. There will be no charge for COVID-19 testing for insured or uninsured patients, but CHN will charge the insurance carrier of any insured patient.
CHN’s Call Center is prepared to assist with calls or questions of community members seeking testing. The call center is available Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6 PM; Saturdays 8 AM to 5 PM, and Sundays 8 AM to 5 PM. Please call 281-824-1480.
“We are grateful to be of service to those individuals that need testing in Galveston County in partnership with the United Way Galveston County Mainland.
