Start Your Child’s ABA Therapy Journey with MyCHN
Every child with autism is unique—and so is their journey. MyCHN now offers center-in-home ABA therapy services for children ages 3-15 years old diagnosed with autism, ADHD, pervasive developmental disorder, and intellectual & developmental disability. MyCHN’s ABA Personalized Therapy supports your child’s development and is supervised by a Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).
What Is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a branch of psychology that employs learning principles & protocols developed and refined using scientific research methods. The goal of ABA is to promote independence and increase positive behaviors that sustain over time. ABA Therapy is widely recognized as the most effective, evidence-based treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
ABA is also an effective treatment approach for children with ADD and ADHD. ABA is endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General and the American Academy of Pediatrics. “Applied” means that program goals are focused toward learning meaningful skills sets, helping children to be more successful in the home, school and community settings. “Behavior Analysis” means that assessments are used to identify the function of a behavior, before the behavior analyst prescribes an intervention strategy.
Types of Services
In-Home 1:1 Learner Programs
MyCHN provides ABA services in the comfort of your home, where beginner skills are taught to each child to improve opportunities for continued learning. Each child has a 1:1 session with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), who is clinically supervised by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This program typically focuses on functional communication skills, social skills, appropriate play skills, pre-attending skills, imitation skills, listener responding skills, and self-care skills.
Parent Training
All ABA services include a component of parent training. Parents of children receiving services will participate in parent training related to their child’s individualized learning and behavioral programs. Participation by parents and significant family members is not only encouraged but is required at a minimum of 2 per month for any program to be successful.
Social Skills Program
Each child receives a social skills assessment to identify individual targets to work on throughout the ABA Therapy program.
Parent Training and Educator Workshops
Workshops are periodically held by MyCHN staff to provide education about relevant topics for parents of children living with a diagnosis of autism or a developmental disability. Each workshop covers a different topic, such as dealing with a new diagnosis, learning the basics of ABA, or the basics of toilet training your child.
