MyCHN Welcomes Juan Carlos Martinez Pinzon, LPC, LCDC, to Support Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program Press Release

Houston, TX, July 21st, 2025 MyCHN is proud to welcome Juan Carlos Martinez Pinzon, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, to its behavioral health team, where he will serve as a supporting therapist for the organization’s growing Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adolescents. With a background in trauma-informed care, substance use counseling, and multicultural mental health, Mr. Pinzon brings valuable expertise and compassion to his new role, supporting youth and families through evidence-based, culturally responsive care. 

Meet Juan Carlos Martinez Pinzon, LPC, LCDC

Juan Carlos Pinzon is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with extensive experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups across diverse clinical and educational settings. He earned his Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Downtown, graduating with Cum Laude honors. 

Mr. Pinzon specializes in trauma-informed care, substance use counseling, and multicultural mental health services. He is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Throughout his career, he has supported vulnerable populations, including unaccompanied minors, students, and families affected by substance use and complex trauma. His clinical approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based practice. 

MyCHN’s Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

Back-to-School Teen IOP Program (August 11 – September 6)

Designed to help teens emotionally prepare for the new school year, this four-week program focuses on confidence-building, stress management, and the development of healthy routines. Sessions are held every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at MyCHN Callaway and include: 

  • Group therapy 
  • Skill-building sessions 
  • Psychiatric care 
  • Family therapy 
  • Parent support groups 

Fall Teen IOP (Beginning October 6)

This six-week program offers extended support to adolescents navigating mental health or substance use concerns. Designed to prevent hospitalization and promote long-term stability, the program includes:

Weekly group therapy sessions on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  • Weekly individual therapy
  • Bi-weekly parent support groups
  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Family therapy

Transportation may be provided depending on proximity, and meals are included for participants.
