Houston, TX, August 16, 2022 — Community Health Network announced today that the CHN PHARMACY has been awarded Full Specialty Pharmacy and Mail Service Pharmacy accreditations from URAC. URAC (Utilization Review Accreditation Commission) is a Washington, DC-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes rigorous quality standards for the healthcare industry. Â
The Mail Service accreditation allows CHN to mail prescriptions directly to its patients. URAC’s standards cover core organizational quality, customer service, communications, drug utilization management, pharmacy operations, and a process for outcomes measurement and quality improvement. The Specialty Pharmacy accreditation allows CHN to dispense specialty drugs for lesser-known diseases, which are difficult to find and at high prices. Specialty Pharmacies are generally used by patients who require maintenance medications for chronic conditions.
