Meet MyCHN: National Health Center Week

It’s National Health Center Week, and it’s simple to say that MyCHN is excited and proud to participate. National Health Center Week is a yearly celebration to raise awareness and demonstrate the accomplishments of healthcare centers in America. For decades the health centers in your community have been a beacon of strength, service, and care, and this is what this week recognizes. This week doesn’t just highlight the health center by itself. It also acknowledges the roles of the providers and staff that make the center run smoothly.

In your community, there will be events to support and celebrate first responders, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals. So, take the time to support and educate yourself about your community healthcare center. In addition, every day this week is dedicated to a specific aspect of healthcare. Many patients don’t know that healthcare goes beyond visiting a clinic and seeing a doctor. So, this week is dedicated to these different sectors of healthcare.

Get To Know Your Health Center: MyCHN

If you’re in Brazoria County, Galveston, or the Greater Houston area, MyCHN is one of your community health centers. MyCHN has been serving the area since 2008 with the simple mission of providing quality care that uplifts, supports, and shapes a healthy community. All this is done while addressing financial and social barriers for each patient.

As a health center, we are leading in quality and paying attention to every aspect of our patient’s health. When you visit your health center, knowing that you are more than just a patient is important. To us, you are a person who needs the best care possible, and that is what we are here to provide. We are passionate about providing an excellent patient experience with high-quality care. This means thinking about every aspect of your healthcare service. We consider everything from the time you schedule your appointment to the time you walk out the door; every step in between makes up your overall experience.

In addition, we have a high professional standard of care. So, what does this mean for you? This means reasonable costs, easy access to needed care, health education, empathetic staff, and transparency. We understand these are all the things you are looking for as a potential patient, and that is what we are ready to provide for you and your family.

You can expect accessible and affordable care from MyCHN whether or not you have insurance. Finding affordable healthcare in your area is paramount to you. So, we offer a sliding scale cost for patients without insurance; this way, they can still get the care they need and not worry about breaking the bank. Furthermore, we help patients enroll in Medicaid, Medicare, Healthy Texas Women, and other programs that pay for their care. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and other private insurance. So, don’t think twice about costs because we have them covered.

MyCHN Care Stories

At MyCHN, whole-person care is our priority. Whole-person care is an approach that involves you and a team of medical professionals. It’s essential that when you think about your health, you are thinking about every aspect of it. This goes beyond just visiting the doctor for your physical. It also means going to the dentist for annual oral exams and checking your mental health with a behavioral/mental health provider. Every part of your body is connected and contributes to your physical body and how it functions.

So, at MyCHN, you can see a doctor, dentist, and behavioral health specialist at the same clinic. And if you don’t have time to visit a clinic, virtual appointments are available. We are here to offer convenience and continued trusted care all around.

Our whole-person care service also takes into consideration social determinants of health. We understand that access to healthcare is affected by where you were born, live, work, learn, and worship; these are known as your social determinants. So, some incentives are available to you when you receive care from us. These include transportation to your visits when needed, access to our on-site pharmacies, and even the opportunity to get the necessities you need to focus on your health.

A whole-person care approach is what you can expect when you visit us at Community Health Network.
