Why You Should Care
Here’s why you should care about your health. Regular checkups are the only way to catch health complications before they advance. You do not want to keep exposing yourself to a health threat when there is a way to avoid or get rid of it. For example, if you are aware of your family’s history of a disease and you choose to ignore that and not visit a doctor, you are putting yourself at risk. Whether the condition is life-threatening or not, getting tested or even talking about it with your doctor is important.
These are the top 10 men’s health issues; if you have a family history of them, it’s best to have a conversation with your provider. They will walk you through the testing stages and let you know your next steps.

7 Tips For Men's Health
The truth is that taking care of your health is easier than you might think. Sometimes we feel like there may be a lot of steps that can be inconvenient, but if you incorporate those steps into your daily routine, you’ll notice that it’s quite easy. Through the month of June, try out these tips. And as you perform these tasks on a daily basis, you’ll see yourself gradually continue into the months after.
1. Eat healthily: Eating healthy doesn’t mean having a salad all the time; it means eating the 5 core food groups (fruits, grains, veggies, protein, dairy) and the number of calories that you need daily. It’s also important to remember that food is a form of medicine and can help in a lot of different ways.
2. Take care of your teeth: Your body is connected, and that means that your oral health is important. Bacteria in your mouth can spread to the rest of your body, and you don’t need that. Simple things like brushing your teeth, flossing, and using mouthwash are ways to care for your oral health.
3. Exercise/Stay Active: Everyone isn’t a fan of the gym, but the truth is that it isn’t the only place to exercise or stay active. Staying active looks like walking or jogging outside, playing a game that gets your body moving, and even stretching. It’s important to be active for at least 30 minutes a day, so aim to do just that.
4. Snack healthily: Snacking is good, but what you snack on is important. Choosing to have a healthy snack instead of an unhealthy one is part of choosing to eat healthy. So, when it’s snack time, try fruits, nuts, or veggies.
5. Protect your mental health: Your physical and mental health are equally important, so you should make it a goal to focus on your mental health. Here are some things you can do to protect it: get enough sleep, de-stress, and think positively.
6. Wear sunscreen: Skincare is not only for women; it’s for everyone. Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it happens to go through a lot. Whether you’re going to be outside or you’re going to be indoors, wear sunscreen. It protects your skin from UV rays which can be very harmful.
Extra tip: Find a simple skincare routine that works for you.
7. Visit your doctor at least once a year: No one is a fan of the ER. The only way to avoid situations that will get you there is by visiting your primary care doctor at least once a year. If you’re a person that forgets to visit the doctor, try scheduling an appointment every year around your birthday and make it a birthday present to yourself.
