About the provider

Phuong (“Madie”) Luu is a Bilingual (Vietnamese/English) Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in education, project management, medical office management, and Vietnamese interpretation. Madie obtained her B.A. from Baylor University in May 2011 and her M.L.A in Political Science and M.S in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas, on December 2017. Madie decided to pursue a career in Mental Health Counseling when she recognized the need for mental health counselors for the minority community, especially in the Vietnamese community. Madie’s personal goal is to promote awareness of mental health while dispelling the negative stigmas within Asian Communities. Madie utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused to transition clients from the presented concerns to a life they have imagined. Madie works with clients from vast ethnic backgrounds and age ranges from as young as 3 to as old as 80 years old who may be suffering from mental health issues such as addiction, ADHD, depression, grief/loss, bipolar, personality disorder, schizoaffective, substance abuse and trauma.
