Alvin, TX, January 16th, 2023 — MyCHN welcomes a new provider to the mental health care team. Melissa Negrete has more than a decade of experience in the mental health field and is an advocate for women and children in crisis. Negrete will join our Women and Children’s Health Center in Alvin, Texas.

Meet the New Mental Health Provider
Melissa Negrete is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of experience in the mental health field. She has a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Women’s Studies Certificate, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston. Before MyCHN, Negrete worked as a therapist and Interim Clinical Director at Oceans Behavioral Hospital and its intensive outpatient program. She worked with younger and older adults experiencing mental health crises.
In addition, Melissa Negrete worked for the Gulf Coast Center serving individuals with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder. Negrete wants to break the stigma that’s associated with mental health. She practices patient-centered treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
