Community Health Network Opens Intensive Outpatient Program at Pearland Family Health Center

Alvin, TX, December 20th, 2021 — Community Health Network (CHN) opened an IntensiveOutpatient Program at Pearland Family Health Center. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) will treat individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. The IOP at Pearland Family Health Center will offer group therapy, individual counseling, and life skills classes for those battling with substance use. Individuals will meet with clinicians and support groups for 9 hours a week. The IOP program offers adult and adolescent groups. The adolescent IOP is an after-school program that supports mental health and substance use disorders. The IOP at Pearland Family Health Center will provide a structured program where patients can attend group therapy sessions, receive individual counseling, take life s skills classes, and join support groups. IOP patients will take courses to address the issues that cause addiction.

“Community Health Network is pleased to provide this expert level of care for our community. During this challenging time of uncertainty, services such as the IOP program are essential to linking people to the care they need,” said Mark Young, Community Health Network’s Chief Executive Officer.

“One of the benefits of an IOP is that it allows a person to remain at school, work, home and in their own community, which improves their adjustment to community life over participation in an inpatient program which is sheltered,” said Demeatraus Minter, Community Health Network’s Lead Behavioral Health Therapist.
