Carla Garcia goes above and beyond to help employees. She gives curated attention to new hires to ensure they are onboarded and ready to start with MyCHN, even if it includes late nights and weekends. She remains kind and giving. Her smile is always there, and she is the first to jump if someone needs help. She has great energy, and you can see she genuinely loves what she does. When her new employees are struggling with external items, she goes out of her way to find solutions to help them succeed. She also provides a huge amount of support to her team. I had lost a fur baby and was deeply upset. She took the time to coordinate with the team to provide me with a card, gift card, and stuffed cat to help ease my pain. While this seems minor to some, my fur babies are my “children,” and it meant more than words can explain.
I am honored to nominate Carla for the Empathy Champion Award. Carla is an exceptional individual who displays the true meaning of empathy through her role in facilitating and managing HR Orientation for all newly hired employees at MyCHN. Carla’s dedication goes beyond her job description. She makes herself available 24/7 for new employees, ensuring they feel supported throughout the onboarding process. A recent example of Carla’s empathy and commitment involved a new hire reaching out to her on her personal cell phone with questions about their paperwork. Although she had already provided detailed instructions, Carla took the time to assist the employee throughout the weekend, even answering calls on Sunday morning. Her main concern was making sure the new hire had all the necessary information to start work on his predetermined hire date. Carla’s willingness to go above and beyond for others, even outside of regular work hours, shows her great empathy and dedication to ensure that every employee feels valued and supported. She truly demonstrates what it means to be an Empathy Champion, and her actions (Heart-Head-Heart) help create a welcoming and caring environment for everyone at MyCHN.
