More About Sedation Dentistry

Moderate Sedation is recommended for anxious children and young teenagers with treatment needs. It is used to calm the patient and to reduce the anxiety or discomfort associated with dental treatment in the office setting.

Your child may start feeling drowsy, sleepy, and may even fall asleep but they will not lose consciousness. The goal is to provide a safe and comfortable experience for your child so they can enjoy coming to the dentist!

There are different medications/combinations that are used for safe administration of moderate/conscious sedation.

Dr. Badawi will assess each child independently and choose a medication that is well suited based on their systemic health and extent of treatment needs. Every child is unique and deserves to be treated as such!
